Job Description:
Site Investigation Work
- Preparation of RFP’s for site investigation work at the various site locations.
- Review of RFP’s development of contract with supply chain and selection of successful contractors for site investigation work
- Selection, hiring, training and deployment of Client resources to monitor and direct contractors to perform site investigation work at the various site locations. This will involve liaison with other LCP teams for SHE, Engineering, Environment, Commercial and Project services resources as required.
- Preparation of site control procedures for all aspects of the work at site. This will involve liaison with other LCP teams for SHE, Engineering, Environment, Commercial and Project services procedures as required.
- Monitoring and direction of contractors in the safe execution of their scope of work in accordance with contract and on time and within budget.
- Early and timely provision of all permits and approvals required for site investigation work to proceed as planned, including ensuring adequate consultation with local people and parties prior to starting the work.
- Ensuring compliance with commitments made in the Impact and Benefits Agreement during the planning/preparation phase and during the site investigation work.
Pre Sanction- Preparation and Planning

Early Works
Early works are the activities that precede the actual start of main construction activity at the LCP sites and includes but is not limited to:
- Access roads, construction power, site clearing, temporary facilities, construction facilities, temporary bridges or river crossings, temporary camps, life support systems. The responsibilities of the Construction Manager shall include:
- Guidance and leadership of a multifunctional team to advance the preparation and planning required to commence the early works at the earliest possible opportunity in order to meet the project schedule.
- Management of the effort required to provide the engineering, procurement, commercial and environmental deliverables required to be able to place purchase orders, award contracts and commence the early works in accordance with the project schedule. This will involve liaison with other LCP teams for SHE, Engineering, Environment, Commercial and Project services as required.
- Selection , hiring, training and deployment of the Client site teams that will monitor and direct the early works by the successful contractors.
- Overall management and coordination of the Client Site teams, development of site procedures to administer the early works by the site contractors. This will involve liaison with other LCP teams for SHE, Engineering, Environment, Commercial and Project services procedures as required.
- Completion of the early works programs safely, on time and within budget respecting all environmental and other requirements and provisions.
- Ensuring compliance with commitments made in the Impact and Benefits Agreement during the planning/preparation phase and during the early works.

Qualifications:
Experience and background required:
The successful Construction manager shall possess the following:
• 15 to 20 years of Construction Management in a senior position on heavy civil works – dam construction is
preferable but not essential.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Civil technical background.
• Previous experience in the guidance and leadership of multiple site teams on a multi billion dollar project.
• Good safety and environmental record.
• Able to function in a multi-functional team environment using a matrix management system.
• Aboriginal and cultural awareness.
• Willingness to adhere to Client’s vision and values.
