The Construction Engineer coordinates execution over an assigned area, functional or system, in the sub-project scope within his/her area of responsibility; and ensures that objectives and strategies are carried out faithfully, and in a timely fashion and are fully coordinated within the sub-project.  

Responsibilities and duties:

• Responsible for ensuring safe and successful execution of construction activities in his area.
• Participates in Project Management Team and leads Construction Execution Team.
• Responsible for effective coordination of assigned area activities within the sub-project activities.
• Develops safety plans and construction execution plans
• Defines key deliverables and timing to achieve construction activities.
• Assists Construction Manager to steward performance to measures, including safety, quality, cost, schedule, and operability.
• Interfaces with contractors and Project Engineer.
• Leads constructability and human factors initiatives
• Management interface with construction contractors.
• Works with functions and construction and engineering teams to resolve sub-project construction issues.
• Works with Construction’s Safety and Quality Managers to ensure project expectations are understood and necessary plans are in place.
• Responsibility for ensuring plans and interfaces are developed and coordinated.
• Responsible for implementation of all project plans as they relate to assigned area activities.
• Facilitates risk assessment processes in accordance with Risk Management Plan.
