General Requirements
The successful candidate must be qualified to conduct the work outlined in the Scope of Work and must be able to demonstrate previous experience in the delivery of such services.
Scope of Work
Responsibilities include:
A. Geological supervision during drilling.
B. Communication and reporting of geology related data onshore/offshore.
C. Wellsite quality control, interpretation and reporting of geological data, including wireline and LWD logs.
D. Recording and evaluation of lithology, hydrocarbon shows and other geological parameters during drilling.
E. Supervise and be accountable for packing, shipping and labeling of geological data
F. Completing Final Well Report and Completion Logs offshore.
G. Other geology related tasks as required from time to time.
Candidate must have as a minimum a university degree in Geology and 5 years experience of wellsite geological supervision in offshore environments (as a wellsite geologist).
Candidate must be able to demonstrate competency in the standard Microsoft office software suite. Competence and current usage of the log drawing software “Geo for Windows” would be a distinct advantage.
Candidate must have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of pore pressure prediction and evaluation using a variety of techniques.
The work period will be for approximately 5 months (or 3-4 offshore trips) on a 21/21 day rotation, commencing Q4 2009 or Q1 2010. Candidates shall possess a valid offshore survival and other safety training certificates for offshore travel which meet the requirements of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board.
