Job Description:
DESCRIPTION
Responsible for working as a member of the cost control function in order to implement effective cost management processes including contact invoice attestation, work order development and reconciliation, recording of accruals, monthly stewardship and reporting.
PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities shall include:
• Participate and support in the development of effective cost management processes and tools for the Client.
• Input and maintenance of all work orders within JD Edwards.
• Establish the appropriate cost codes within JD Edwards consistent with the Cost Code of Accounts.
• Establish and maintain interface and data communications between JD Edwards and Project Management
Software including data synchronization and reporting.
• Support cost control function in controlling project costs through cost analysis of actual versus incurred cost
versus project budgets.
• Prepare monthly stewardship of the project incurred cost, including accruals.
• Support cost control function in controlling project costs through cost analysis of actual versus incurred cost
versus project budgets.
• Lead all contract invoice attestation for actual billings versus contract to ensure contractor compliance and
work with contractor and Commercial Coordinator to resolve.
• Complete monthly reconciliation of invoiced costs from JD Edwards.
• Work with Cost Controller to develop, control and steward reporting against all project AFE's.
• Provide financial support to the project including annual budget development, stewardship and reporting.
• Foster good working relationship with accounting, treasury and financial reporting functions.
• Ensure integrity of data interfaces with financial management controls and systems.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION
• Business/Commerce or equivalent experience
• Professional designation is advantageous (CMA or CGA)
EXPERIENCE
• Good working knowledge of cost management principles.
• 5-10 years experience in the field of project accounting.
• University Degree in accounting with a professional designation.
• Excellent understanding of contractual arrangements and structures and the ability to interpret them for
attestation of invoices.
• Excellent working knowledge of cost accounting principles (GAAP).
• Working knowledge of JD Edwards desirable.

• Develops programs & objectives to meet general objectives outlined by Projects.
• Proactively approaches and develops innovative solutions to problems on non-recurring/strategic issues requiring
expert knowledge.
