Job Description:
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position has proprietorship over the engineering of the Marine aspects of FPSO as well as of management of CAPEX budget assignments and acts as scope manager for approved Change Requests.
Included within the scope of the role are:
- Work with Project Engineering in developing and defining capital projects.
- Act as Scope Manager for assigned Maintenance projects.
- Develop, in consultation with Business Unit Technical staff and Operations personnel, project specific objectives on cost, schedule and quality.
- Manage the design, procurement, and construction of each project using the Modifications Management and Management of Change processes and with the Key Performance Indicators set out for Projects.
- Manage long term study projects in support of Production Operations operability initiatives on marine systems.
- Manage the engineering plan for modifications.
- Ensure that project development is consistent with sound economic principles.
- Communicate all relevant project information to all stakeholders on a timely basis and ensure long-term retention of relevant project data.
- Participate in the selection of appropriate engineering contractors, vendors and service providers for each project.
- Participate in long-term initiatives within Project Engineering that will enhance the work processes within the department.
- Keep current on new technologies and identify opportunities to improve capital projects through technological innovations.
- Ensure that all projects are undertaken safely and within all regulatory requirements.
- Participate on the Emergency Response Planning team, as assigned. This may include carrying a pager on a rotational basis.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree from an accredited university or college.
• 3 - 10 years experience in Marine Engineering with significant Naval Architecture and Marine Systems
exposure.
• Eligibility for membership in the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador
(PEG-NL)
• Technical knowledge of process topsides and utilities equipment.
• Familiar with CNOPB, DnV Ships Rules and Transport Canada Regulations relevant to East Coast Offshore
Operations.
• Familiar with ASME, API codes and standards.
• Familiar with offshore health, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Basic understanding of economic principles and methodology.
• Strong computer skills

to Client.

especially in the execution of inspection programs.
• Able to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as maintain effectiveness in varying
environments
and with different tasks, responsibilities and people.
Travel / Other:
MEDICAL (PHYSICAL) REQUIREMENTS/STANDARDS:
The position would require health and fitness capabilities to allow for offshore trips with the completion of the offshore Basic Survival Training (BST) course as well as medical clearance.
OTHER TRAINING:
The incumbent must complete required training:
• Basic Survival Training
• WHMIS
• FPSO (workplace) Orientation
• Risk Assessment techniques (HazOp, What if, etc)
• Other Technical training as required by the position (e.g. profitability analysis, basic reservoir engineering
principles, etc)
