DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Applying Company and project specific HSE policies and related standards
- Achieving an accident and incident free performance
- Developing and leading a team of Process Engineers within project organization
- Advising and guiding design contractors on all aspects of process design
- Ensuring adequate quality assurance of all deliverables
- Keeping the agreed schedule for all deliverables
- Communicating effectively with peers, colleagues, contractors and customers
- Creating a positive team spirit and ensuring adequate workload and professional development of subordinates
KEY CHALLENGES:
- Effectively managing a high workload and maintaining a balanced lifestyle
- Integrating project management, engineering and operational aspects of the project
- Communication with project team members and engineering contractors
- Ensuring high quality standards under tight schedule constraints
Qualifications:
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• “Professional Engineer” with a minimum of 12 years experience and previous exposure to design of large
projects
and operations of thermal plants (either SAGD or Cyclic Steam)
• Familiar with design of oilfield processes and processing equipment such as treaters, steam generators, heat exchangers, water treatment, energy optimization, multiphase pipelines
• Experienced in the development of technical standards and specifications
• Knowledgeable in safety in design, principles of process controls, sour gas sweetening
• Familiar with conditions specific to a northern climate and Muskeg environment
• Good understanding of work processes within very large projects
• Excellent technical and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills as required for a large project environment
