DESCRIPTION
Short description of project/assignment:
Significant parts of the work will take place at the Houston (USA) project office. Ability to perform extensive travel and extended stays (4 weeks or more) in the Houston area is important to this position
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional engineering support and advice on issues related to Process Safety/Technical Safety for the project scope. This includes overseeing and preparing input to safety related systems such as active / passive fire protection, fire and gas detection, etc.
- Define specific requirements for the platform, review and technically approve proposed design of equipment and systems.
- Identify and understanding hazards within his/her remit, propose methods and ways to eliminate or control hazards.
- Consult with project ‘Technical Authorities’ to seek agreement on proposed solutions and advise on deviations from and use of relevant codes, standards and statutory regulations.
- Ensure that all work and tasks within the area of responsibility are carried out to achieve the overall objectives of the project.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• MSc degree (or equivialent)
• Training in and recent experience from safety and risk management for projects on the Norwegian Continental
Shelf
•
Experience from HSE discipline work in offshore development projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
• Working Knowledge of Norwegian regulatory requirements and standards applicable for new development projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
