DESCRIPTION
The responsibility of the Project Hook-Up & Commissioning Engineer is ensuring that the company’s specification and contractual requirements in relation to Hook-Up & Commissioning are fulfilled.
The incumbent actively promotes the company’s IIF culture, supports the company’s tenants of operational excellence and ensures all business between the EPC, their sub contractors, vendors and the company is conducted in an ethical manor consistent with the Clients way.
HUC Engineer ensures the contractual requirements in relation to the development of an integrated HUC plan and schedule for onshore and offshore phases of the project. This includes ensuring the development of the specific activities, tasks, procedures and documents required for commissioning activities for subsea, topsides, hull and export pipeline facilities.
This also includes a detailed schedule of activities to be performed during onshore and offshore commissioning. This includes clear definitions of roles and responsibilities of all project sub-teams, contractors and operations during preparation and execution of the HUC Plan.
HUC Engineer ensures common Commissioning procedures, and processes to be used by EPC Contractor.
Works closely with EPC Contractor (Topsides, Export Pipelines, Operations, and Installation) to ensure the HUC plans are in accordance with overall HUC plan, procedures and schedule.
Develops handover process and procedures with Production Operations.
Manages contractors to achieve HUC plan on schedule and within budget.
Apply the CSOC principles and CPDEP/project management best practices in all aspects of work.
Participate in operational reviews during design and fabrication in order to identify barriers to effective commissioning, startup and subsequent operations.
Works closely with Project staff in the testing and acceptance of new equipment and preparation of maintenance plans.
Develops, coordinates and implements HUC and start-up plans, including SIMOP plans, to ensure safety and efficient execution.
Participate in safety and risk assessments, and work with EPC contractor to define interface between mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities at fabrication sites, construction sites and at offshore installation site.
Develop and implement commissioning and start-up plans.
Provides input to Pre-commissioning plan and the Start-Up plan.
